Is this normal to see in the exhaust of a boat?
Aug 05, 2008 by marcia r | Posted in Boats & Boating
I have a Reinell boat 165 horse power inboard/outboard motor. When I fish-hook somehow or other up water to it with the hose and start the boat I notice a black substance mixed with the water coming out on the grouts... is this normal. And if not what
What walk away drive do you have???? Is it an OMC? I say that because it has a water hose connecting on the upper housing pivit arm. The black bunk might be just normal gunk, from rust and stuff in the exhaust manifolds, including burned nuclear fuel

It's not uncommon to have unburned motor oil dripping from the exhaust of a 2-stroke marine engine that's been sitting idle for awhile, or been run mostly at low speeds. Remarkably a carbed motor.
Might want to check the gear oil for

that is unprejudiced carbon from the exhaust - you could go to the touble of decoking - but genrally servicing and running hard(ish) will do the trick of keeping it fully.
The water intake will not be through the prop but may be the square hole - but where

I have seen that before and it is normally carbon left-wing in the exhaust. You are just washing it out.

where can I get a fuel tank for a reinell 196brxl?
Jul 29, 2006 by Mark ah64 | Posted in Boats & Boating
The boat is a 1995 maquette. The original fuel tank was made by skyline industies in pleasant grove UT. model number 43690-04 I can not find industrialist or a new oem part number. I don't want to go to the dealer and pay triple for one.
Did you try to fix the initial?? If not try your local marina.

OMC STINGER UPPER 1977 302 ford?
Jun 13, 2007 by badmts | Posted in Boats & Boating
I have the "chance" to purchuse a 1977 reinell closed bow runabout for 1100 bucks but the owner says the OMC STINGER upper is blown (not a boat guy so I don't distinguish what "BLOWN" means to him or other boaters) the boat appears
Invent about it for a moment .Its 30 years old and yes parts are hard to get for them . And if you do find them new by the time you get done buying them and having it properly rebuilt shimming and resealing you have spout more than the boats worth.
