There were three graded races during the closing weekend at Santa Anita.
Santa Barbara H. (G2) : Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer et al's Wherewithal PLAN tracked in second, took command in early stretch and wasn't seriously challenged thereafter in posting a 1 1/2-measure victory. The four-year-old Rock Hard Ten filly got 1 1/4 miles on the firm lawn in 2:01 3/5 under Brice Blanc.
San Juan Capistrano H. (G2) : David and Jill Heerensperger's BOURBON BAY had a lot left to do turning for to the quick but gamely ran down a clear one to get up in the final jumps for trainer Neil Drysdale. Now a two-time winner of this rallye, the gelded six-year-old finished off 1 3/4 grassy miles in 2:45 3/5 with Joel Rosario in the saddle.
San Simeon H. (G3) : Jacobsen et al's CALIFORNIA Tab proved he still has plenty left at age eight, as the gelding ran this field off their respective feet for trainer Brian Koriner. The California-bred went the about 6 1/2 furlongs down the hill in a dazzling 1:11 2/5 under the guidance of Joe Talamo.
