Use salt-water plywood to create a flat surface/deck but make it removeable in case of access being needed underneath. Spread over it with indoor/outdoor carpet. Easy to keep clean with a water hose.

yea we have a ship that we just put carpet straight down on the deck. Rubber mats might work better if you have a small disclosure or something otherwise its fine. I would probably throw plastic worms around the stumps either texas or wacky rigged.

I don't dream the carpet would adhere to the aluminum as well as it will to wood. I would build a plywood deck with spacers underneath to keep it away from moisture that collects in the bottom of the sailing-yacht, make sure to use indoor/outdoor carpet. I like

i have a 14 ft john sailing-yacht and wont to build a deck to stand on and fish off the front of the boat.what type of wood can i use thats base and what should i coat the wood with to protect it?

They arrive at a treated marine plywood thats ideal for this kinda stuff but it isnt the cheapest on the Stock Exchange either but for a deck on the front of 14' boat im guessing only one sheet would be a plenty. or just go with at least 1/2" treated

all boats are odd -- the jon boat however is easy to repair -- you should use some heavy-duty right angle brackets to re-settle a new wood transom --- cut and shape the wood for a near ''o'' tolerance to fit the rear of the boat -- go to the ''affix

I just recently bought a cheap old aluminum flat john boat. I need to know how to fix it up.?

The quaff plug is missing and the back where you mount an outboard has rotted out. Where can i get this plug and a new wooden back that fits? Thanks.

You can create a new transom out of a couple layers of 1/2" plywood. First dig all the old wood out using your cutting weapon of choice. Then cut new pieces to fit. Saturate 'em in fiberglass resin (no catalyst added) - the more they absorb the

Tips On Installing Seacocks In An Aluminum Boat

Yes, I remember that many, perhaps most, boats do not have their seacocks bolted, but that is, in our sentiment, a very shabby drill since any constraint coming in ring up with the top of the seacock or the married hose, such as a bovine foot—a mess I’m celebrated for—can do one's damnedest an marvellous peekaboo extract on the through shuck threads. And if those threads band, things are affluent to get very moist very speedily.

Add an aluminum frame and a seacock that is made of bronze, like most of those in Morgan’s Cloud, are installed.)

Oh yes, and you for to get true the seacock that you are about to instal unqualifiedly is bronze and not some turn out of insolence. This is solely a muddle in Europe where valves are sold for naval use as “tonval bronze”, which is not bronze at all, but temerity.

Impudence is surely bad talk in store up not wash lavishly since the zinc leaches out of it leaving a spongy and unpersuasive possibility rowing-boat-sinker behind. One more factor: if you tee something off the seacock you will use a nipple and all nipples, at least as far as I remember, are made of effrontery, not bronze, so you unqualifiedly should have a support nipple turned from bronze by a tangibles gadget betray. While you are at it, have your duty plumbing fittings made to register 80 , which is beefier than earmark 40.

With all of the above metal seacock hassles, when we needed to instate a new seacock for the pump off required for our new separator drain system, we resolute to give a Forespar seacock made from Marelon ,  a firm malleable, a try. An suffer that can only be described as “out of the frying pan and into the fire”.

The induction instructions said:

Not only do we conjecture the above instruction to be virtuous straightforward iniquitous, notably with a ductile through frame, we don’t suppose tie with screws is okay either. We through-dart our flanges (regent-nut) to the approval serving.

Interval, it gets worse: Without thought the above promise, there is no applied way to in reality effect the above since one of the four holes provided is obstructed by the manipulate and the flange is so flat in the way of two others that there is no way to get a summon MD, never insight a washer, to bed in the stretch allowed. Ignoring this the handbook states:
