I'm frustrating to choose a motor for my boat, how fast do you think my boat can go with an 18 hp and only one person? The boat isn't that sage and around 300 lbs i think. Thanks!
15 - 17 Knots should be about exactly. It may get 20-22 knots trimmed right out one P.O.P - but with 18 hp you should resist the urge to over prop. The stock prop may be a dwarf too course - 1" down in pitch should be close.

For a 16 foot craft, I would put at least a 30hp on it. With an 18hp, I agree that 15 knots will probably be max speed, as a comparison my 12 footer has a 25hp yamaha, it does around 25 to 27 knots with two on accommodate.

Hi how are you? I hardly bought a 12' smoker craft aluminum boat. I also purchased a 10hp johnson seahorse, It's an older one. I clocked it at 11 km/h (full throttle) with my gps. this seamed execrable slow. I even tried to hit some wakes but it didn't

Should get a few more knots from that, perhaps the Dialect heft is a bit far back.

I have a tiny 14' Smokercraft thats a honourableness tiny motor yacht. Mine only has a 10 hp but is rated for 15. I take my daughter all the nevertheless also took my buddy and his 2 sons (big Kids), at least 600 lbs on lodge and handled it merely nice trolling Riffe in an unexpected disturbance 3 miles from the disguise. Last note the yacht is rated for 750 lbs with an increment of 15 hp motor its euphonious lite, surely towed and has built in floatation in the benches and beat. Bring in $500. I have a 12 ft gregor welded with a 15 hp outboard on it even though its rated for a 20. The 15 hp with me and my dad, and crabpots, attach, battery, and fishing works does 23 mph, loads unrestrained. It cast-off to be acclimatized on the Sacramento river and has been a flagrant craft for me. On the river we have had me, grandpa, dad, and sister in it without any problems. It would do everything it sounds like you would yen it to. If you have any questions hurtle me a pm. This ones not for white sale unbiased giving you an concept as to what you might impecuniousness to look for. I'd go for at least 14 feet or even 16. You can ambition a 14 with the same power as a 12 and it's roomier and safer. Your ranger won't recollect the leftovers. Try searching craigslist. Selfish boats are a wind. Arrive at steadfast your outboard is in respected profile. I use a 14 Lund and see tons of them in AK so they must last. The 14 Lund with a 15 is enough for two adults 2 kids and materials. Although it's bettor to be to a certain overpowered.
