Try that 2 part epoxy block up. Some sets up like steel if its applied correctly.

Go to your shire boat shop or hardware store & find the stainless steel bolt section ( ask the store employees, they're most of the time very helpful). Find a couple of 'fender' washers the appropriate size, with a fine thesis bolt approx. 1 1/2" long & a nylon type lock nut. To plug the pickle apply a generous coating of silicone to both washers on the side in contact with the hull & tighten it down. Concede to cure before hitting the waves. Since it's a Lund, you probably use it mostly for fishing & aren't frustrating for any speed records, the minor drag from the bolt head shouldn't be a factor.

JB Clear welder works great

Chance 1You'll need three washers, a bolt & a locking nut. Get two washer 1/2 inch larger than the largest part of the pickle & one washer that will just fit in the hole. Sandwich the small washer between the two larger ones. Apply a cagoule of silicone to each large washer (or a piece of rubber) Y install the bolt with the head under water & tighten.
Opportunity 2
Buy a thru hull adapter & install a hose that extends above the water line or put a live well plug in it for a summary fix.
Good luck.

how to repair a leaking aluminum boat?
Oct 17, 2006 by Shannon | Posted in Boats & Boating
little, aluminum fishing boat, has sprung a leak, what's the best material to use for repair?
OK Shannon here's the dole out. If It is a riveted boat you can take a sledge hammer and lay it on one side of the rivet and take a second hammer and smack the opposite side for a quick fix and squish, no more leaky rivet. If it is a aperture you can use aluminium JB weld, if used properly, and that will give you a temporary fix in till you can take it in and get a plate migged on. If you do, make established they round off the edges. We've had the JB cold weld last all season, if your short on cash. Fiberglas does not trade, it never did. Hope this helps.

Can you repair rust or any other damages on an aluminum boat?
Feb 19, 2009 by Name Goes Here | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
If yes, how? =]
Ok i take now aluminum doesn't rust lol. How can i repair other damages though scrapes, dents, holes, etc.
You can fill in matter-of-fact hole with body filler. You can also weld aluminum to fix corrosion holes. If it is a large area, you can weld in a knock together of sheet aluminum. If you don't weld aluminum (there is a trick to it) you can place a patch over the hole, use a sealant between the patch and the case, and rivet it in place.

how do i fix an aluminum boat?

i have a wound in toward the stern of my boat. i need an inexpensive way to repair it.
this may depend on the assay of the hole, the location of the hole, but i certainly would not want to do a permenent repair with silicon, especially if the oubliette is below the water line, or can get ripped off by fast moving water. epoxy may work, marine-tex may occupation - but it is probably best to have it welded up by a welder. shouldn't be too expensive. good luck!
