how do you fiberglass a boat?

I need to stop a leaking rivited aluminum boat (old boat) from leaking. I use the boat as a duck boat -5-6 times per year. I heard that some people have fiberglassed the leaking size. Does this work. If so, I would like to know how to fiberglass.
I'd go with 3M 5200 caulking. The makings is nearly bulletproof!

You can buy a fiber crystal kit at any boat store, it comes with the raisn and the fiberglass sheets... Might be easier to get some sylicone and patch the difficulty up that way, depending on size of course

if you have never in use accustomed to resin and fiberglass cloth, my suggestion to you is find someone who has, because there can not be any air bubbles at all and the resin will set up fast once you mixed the catalyst in....

Go to a boat vendor and get:
Orthophalic resin
Glass fibre matting.
Catalyst, (hardener).
Paddle roller, pint measuring jug, 2" away.
Abrade the area around the rivets before you start.
Mix 2% catalyst

+ A associate of mine used another option. He melted an aluminum mix powder that he heated up and poured over the leaks in an aluminum boat that he had for 40 years. He still uses it. I regard as it lasts a couple of years until he has to do it again. I think

Welding is the most protect way. I don't think I'd trust anything else to keep me dry in the middle of a river.

JB Solder is a two part epoxy putty that you knead together and then stick on the metal / wood; great stuff but I dont over it will adhere well to oily metal.......

i have a john boat that has i under age water leak and a small crack on a side i don't have an aluminum welder so what other ideas are out there that work great and long undying
