What type of boat do you recommend for a starter bass boat?

I have been an avid fisher for years and now deficiency to buy a boat but spend under 5,000 dollars. I have seen some decent aluminum boats for this price or less. I would be fishing texas impoundments. thx

Go to classifieds. Scroll down on the pink side to boats and check through the categories. This is an awesome site with great deals. If you are going with a metal boat, I would advance something thats at least 48" wide and 16' long. If you have the ability to modify and/or work on it, you can get some correct deals and rig it like you want which is what I did to mine. Keep watching and you can find some old Bass Trackers or the like that may not need much work for under 5. Extraordinarily depends on the type of fishing you are wanting to do. However, you can bet it will show up here.
Edit: One more thing. Don't even think of buying any boat in Texas without a label. It takes a act of Congress with a title and a out-of-state boat. Its pretty imposible with no title. You may know this, but I had to learn the unalterable way. I wouldn't buy a brand new 21 ft Triton for 50 bucks if it didn't have a caption and I planned to run in Texas.

,Look on Craig's record in your area for a used boat . One with a shallow draft and live wells . Consider how many people you fish with, Will their be scope ? Will it be for fishing only or will you want to ski or tube . Trolling motor is a must. Don't under power get a motor that you will satisfaction in , you can always slow down. Oh, and have a professional or someone who is qualified to check it out.Good luck

I be aware of a guy here in Oklahoma selling his bass boat for about $5,000. I think he said it was a 20' with a 225 on it...ready to go to the flood.
Another guy at work is selling his bass boat for about $2,500. He said it has a 65 on it.

The whole quality of a bass boat is to spend more money and be faster than your opponent. The whole point of bass tournaments is to sell more bass boats and fishing come to grips with.
I use a canoe and catch lots everytime (but not bass except by accident). Why would anyone need specialized appurtenances just for bass? Worm, jig, and whammo, another bucket face.
I can always tell who the Americans are up here, because they have fancy boats and aren't fetching anything. Don't be a pansy, use a regular tin boat and if you must stand up, then a wooden deck with outdoor carpeting and you're there for under $5000 agreeable. Don't believe the hype! Bass boats are a waste of money.
