Save your seat this holiday season for a new movie or two
&Bull; Head | David Fincher• Starring | Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig
• Put out | Dec. 21
The Millenium Trilogy has already enjoyed a great deal of success, both in the literary world and European cinema. The books have sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, and the films have received well-known reviews from critics of all circles.
Murder, espionage and a web of lies and intrigue bind a journalist and computer hacker as they raceway to find the truth behind the disappearance of a wealthy man’s niece. Given the wealth of material Fincher has to effort with, not to mention his own talent, this is one of the safest bets of the holiday season.
War Horse
• Kingpin | Steven Spieldberg
Starring | Emily Watson, Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irvine
• Rescuing | Dec. 25
What would a list of anticipated movies be without the great Mr. Spieldberg? And would you expect anything less than a Christmas Day release from the acclaimed foreman? “War Horse” looks to keep equestrian cinema fresh in the mind, using the success of last year’s “Secretariat,” even though the stories are enormously different.
