I recieved an aluminum Jon boat the other day extra of charge. Today I tested it for leaks and found that about half on the rivets leak. Could I fiberglass the entire bottom of my boat or would it barely peel off in a giant sheet?
if it does, then you would have 2 boats!
unquestioningly tho if its prepped right it should stick pretty well

The rivets are structural members, what you do is either re-set them if they are that fount, or drill out and replace - this returns the hull to it's original strength and is actually the cheapest repair. Use Duralac to downgrade potential corrosion with

I active in Alaska and have put " bed liner" on the inside of my alum. boat. It seals it right up. Add a little coast sand to it so you don't slip and fall.

Will it be alright to fish in my aluminum jon boat for a three of times after being sanded down until my paint arrives in the mail for it?
It will be prime. Lots of aluminum boats remain unpainted during there entire life. Electrolysis is the biggest concern for aluminum boats notwithstanding water. Key to this is sacrificial anodes and keeping the boat clean. If you are running the boat

It has elephantine 1/4 x1 1/2 rivets in it now and i can't find them anywhere. I was wondering what to use instead and if i used regular bolts what kind of sealant to use. Thanks.
Aluminium and stainless, not a chaste match.
If you want this to be a long term fix and stainless is the only fastening you can get, I would suggest you have a nylon insert and washer where the stainless bolts would accomplish contact with the

Has anyone tried hauling a 14 foot aluminum jon boat strapped down on top of a minivan? Will it work?

I am buying a 14 foot blown out bottom boat tomorrow. No motor or anything. Is it feasable to try and haul it home strapped down on top of my minivan (96 Mercury Villager). The boat is 14 feet covet and 56 inches wide at the top.
I don't plan on
Buy yourself a canoe tie down kit that has 4 fizz blocks that attach to the gunnels, Tie ends of jon to bumper or tow hooks firmly with and also tie over middle. Be carefull if it is talkative.
