How much does it cost do have the rivets replaced in an aluminum boat?

I have an 18ft aluminum boat. What is a trustworthy price to pay to have the rivets replaced? How do I fix any leaks?
The existing rivets can as usual be tightened up by hammering form the outside while somebody holds another hammer against the rivet from inside.
Gun inserted, or "pop" rivets are the fiendish type to use.

go buy the rivets and rivets gun and do it yourself, most of the labor is drilling the old ones out.

You must first find the leaking rivets.
Then get someone to favour a large hammer over the inside as you tap them tight from the outside.
Quite labour intensive, but not much for parts.

Use a offshoot called Gluvit or Coat It from the marine store. It is a thin epoxy. You can paint the bottom of the boat with a gallon and get many more years of use.
Apply the seams from the inside if you can get to them too.
If some of your rivets are leaking they all will sooner than later. Just hammering them probably won't do the cantrip for long.

How can you stop a leak on an aluminum boat around the rivets?

"Rebucking" the rivets may better. Otherwise you will have to live with it or replace the leaking rivets with new ones. If the leak is not very big (water in the boat is 2" at the most after a day of use) you can do what I did to my aluminum boat: build a plywood whip that stays above the water and install a small bilge pump.

J. B. Link. You can buy it at any hardware store. It bonds to metal well, you can even use it on hot things like an engine.
In a pinch plumbers epoxy will calling too- that can be found at any hard ware store too.

Best Aluminum Boats

In a big realm of many boats like we have in the twenty-first century, looking for the best boat depends on your particular needs, but for recreational boaters who fork out time fishing, the DNRguide list of Best Aluminum boats should lead you to some nice options.
Wrap up back to the early 1950’s and you will see the emergence of “tin” boats for recreational fisherman in the United States. The overflow of post-World War II aircraft aluminum persuaded many builders that manufacturing boats with aluminum rather than wood could offer recreational boaters a ameliorate future on the water. They were right – and aluminum still has a favored place in the boating world.
So why aluminum? The wonderment metal is lightweight (less horsepower required), durable, low maintenance, reasonable in building cost, workable for sketch options, weld or rivet assembly, and repairable. Have your cake and eat it too when you go with aluminum.
Because aluminum is such a great hull corporeal, there are many manufacturers ready to build one for you. But for our money, these are the top ten boats for value, features, and quality.
