What would be the best design for an aluminum foil, penny holding boat? ?

Hi people! Our league is having a competition using 2 sheets of aluminum foil to design a boat and then, putting it in water to see how much pennies it can hold. Do any of you distinguish the best design for the boat so that it will hold the most pennies? Thanks,
John Macdonald.
i would cause it as wide as i can possible make it. flat and wide.
you know?

you have to have rigidity like with a keel, this will keep the muscle of the vessell

Aluminum foil boat design help please!!?

I necessary to build a aluminum foil boat by tommorow that can hold the most pennies, i need help, any suggestiions??
Purely make a boat shape with the foil.
Foil is quite easy to shape just make reliable there are no holes in it.
Make it look like a rowing boat.
A boat floats by displacing the EXACT SAME WEIGHT OF Not function AS ITSELF.

Aluminum Foil Boat Project?
Jan 31, 2009 by CKH | Posted in Engineering
In my engineering type, I was given a single 6"x9" sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. My assignment is to be a boat out of it that can hold as many pennies as possible before it starts to sink (defined as taking on water).
I can only fold the disconcert; no cutting is allowed. Other than the aluminum foil, the only other material allowed is scotch tape to seal the boat and help agree to it together. At the minimum, the boat needs to be capable of holding at least 80 pennies to make me eligible for an A.
I'm assuming that the boat will about the most pennies when it has the greatest possible volume. I'm planning on just making a box (the top has to be open so the pennies can be dropped in) by marking out squares on the daily's corners and folding them inward like triangles. I also plan on applying some math to effigy out what size squares will lead to the box with the greatest volume.
If you have any ideas how I could improve my design, or if I'm going unconditionally the wrong way, please let me know.
The pennies cannot be pre-loaded. The boat goes in the water first, then the pennies are added.
If you can decide your pennies, choose all pennies with a mint date after 1982. Pennies made after 1982 are less dense (almost 20% less thick!) than pennies made before 1982 because the ones made after 1982 are made out of primarily zinc instead of copper so you'll be competent to float more pennies if they are all made after 1982. That's gonna do more for you than a minor improvement in your boat design.
But in thinking about your design, consider this... the authority of the water displaced by your boat, will equal how much weight you can float in your tinfoil boat. So take the volume of your boat, figure out how much that same volume of Latin aqua would weigh, and that's the weight you can float. So you want to maximize the volume of your boat with the surface area of tinfoil you are allowed to use. A society has the largest volume for the smallest surface area, so you probably want to make your boat as much sphere like as doable.

How do you stabilize a 12ft Jon Boat?
Sep 23, 2008 by BBQ Dragon | Posted in Boats & Boating
I have a 12ft aluminum Jon Boat I emergency to stabilize to Duck Hunt out of. Can you think of any stabilization designs?
This is ultra redneck but it works colossal.
Get some plastic 10 to 55 gal barrels then run a aluminum bar over them that is attached to the barrels by hitch pins that are attached to the barrels by being (screwed)riveted to the top of the barrel and sealed with silicone.
Here is how it works. You your buddy and the two barrels precede out to the spot. You attach the barrels to the bar via the pins. Then you twist the setup so that the bar is either sitting in the row pivots or just on top of the boat. Then using two clamps you clasp the bar to the boat.
Makes a huge difference and gives you a spot to take a extra step if need be.
If you are careful about it you can neighbourhood stuff inside the barrels or use one barrel that is cut into two. This lets you keep all your stuff inside the barrel until you get out there then you split the barrel for stabilizers.
Goodluck
