Experimental foot ferry won't run between Bremerton, Seattle this year Seattle Times

BREMERTON — Kitsap Conveyance's new research ferry will arrive in three months, but the low-wake catamaran won't run between Bremerton and Seattle for quite a while.
It will take about a year for environmental agencies to unquestioned the high-tech prototype to go through Rich Passage, Kitsap Transit executive director Dick Hayes said during a tryst of the agency's board Tuesday. In the meantime, he said, the 118-person boat could shuttle passengers between Bremerton and Annapolis and possibly give the Admiral Pete at the same time off for an upgrade.
Kitsap Transit is seeking to buy the Admiral Pete, which it has been leasing, from Kitsap Harbor Tours. The power would change it over to cleaner-burning engines and extend it 15 feet to increase capacity from 82 to 115 passengers.
The new $5.3 million catamaran ferry is the decisive stage of a Rich Passage wake study that began in 2005. Bellingham's All American Maritime plans to deliver it on April 19. The research, including the boat itself, has been paid for with federal funds, including $800,000 to assay the ferry on the Bremerton-Seattle route for about seven months with passengers aboard. That's now projected to chance from April 2011 to October 2011.

I had a 14 ft. alumcraft it had a 25hp on it Promiscuous! But a 15hp will do it!

look in the boat in theme for the manufacturers load plate, the motor size will be listed, stay below that number and you will be safe

One of my 14 fters has a 15 hp and that pushes it nicely.
If you neediness to skip right along try a 25 hp.
But check your USCG capacity plate first to make sure it holds it.

10 to 25 HP max. 10 will get you around, 25 will in the main be enough to get you on plane, depending on boat design.
I also had a 14' Glasspar with a 50HP Merc that I used to pull water skis.

Has anyone tried hauling a 14 foot aluminum jon boat strapped down on top of a minivan? Will it work?
Apr 18, 2006 by ck33181 | Posted in Boats & Boating
I am buying a 14 foot spiritless bottom boat tomorrow. No motor or anything. Is it feasable to try and haul it home strapped down on top of my minivan (96 Mercury Villager). The boat is 14 feet lengthy and 56 inches wide at the top.
I don't plan on going that fast with it and I will be using several tie downs and bungee straps to gain it.
Buy yourself a canoe tie down kit that has 4 soap up blocks that attach to the gunnels, Tie ends of jon to bumper or tow hooks firmly with and also tie over middle. Be carefull if it is gusting.
